Pre listening (±17 minutes)

1. Preview the word use in the story
book.
2. Show the set of words and
stresses on the words with the medial sounds.

1. Teacher introduces new
vocabulary.
2. Teacher pronounces the words
while the pupils listen to the pronunciation, stresses and sentence rhythm.
3. Pupils repeat the words after
teacher.
4. Teacher explains the meaning of
the words using picture cards.

1. The teacher reads the story to
the pupils. (*Read with clear pronunciation, correct intonation and gestures)
2. The teacher reads the story with
pupils and stresses on the words with medial sounds.
3. The teacher drills the words to
the pupils until they can pronounce the words correctly.
4. Pupils read the story again with
the correct pronunciation with teacher’s guidance.
5. Teacher distributes the
worksheet of the missing medial words.
6. Pupils use the correct sounds of
medial syllable words and fill in the blank the missing alphabet in the
words.
7. After the pupils have finished
answering the worksheet, the teacher then discusses the correct answers with
the pupils together.

Activity

1. Teacher shows picture cards that
represent each word that sounds alike. (eg; ship, sheep)
2. Pupils have to identify and sort
the pictures and pronounce the word that represents the picture correctly.
3. After the pupils are able to
pronounce all the display pictures correctly, the teacher will asks the
students to write the words on the board.
3. Teacher checks the spelling with
the students.
